About the High Bridge Police Department

Of the 26 municipalities in Hunterdon County, High Bridge is one of 14 to have its own
police department. The High Bridge Police Department (HBPD) consists of a chief, one
sergeant, and five patrolmen. The HBPD provides 24/7 community policing and is a first
responder for all emergency calls. Through the Adopt-A-Cop program, the Department
offers various services in all grade levels in the High Bridge School  system. These include
programs for grades kindergarten through fifth grade, which are designed to reinforce
lessons covered in the Schools, and fitness programs in grades sixth through eighth in
cooperation with the physical education teacher.
